The Office of Leadership and Service-Learning has received a grant from The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro to fund and pilot two UNCG Community Fellow positions.
Community Fellows will be leaders in community-based organizations and from a member agency of the Guilford Nonprofit Consortium. Applicants for the fellowships will be asked to identify a project that is mutually beneficial to the agency and the university, such as a particular project that utilizes UNCG student volunteers to benefit the organization through service-learning. This project seeks to create a model that identifies best practices for effective partnerships and honors the knowledge held within the non-profit sector. In addition, it aims to increase capacity for the non-profit sector through access to university resources, including collaboration with UNCG faculty/staff.
A request for proposals will be issued in the spring semester; watch for additional information. Questions? Contact Joe Frey, assistant director for community engagement, at 6-1406 or email@example.com.
