Even with the Tools 4 Schools campaign that is conducted at the beginning of each school year for Guilford County Schools, public school teachers spend an average of $630 out of pocket to supply the needs of their students and classrooms.
Staff Senate is initiating a campaign called Beyond Tools 4 Schools to help ease that burden. Working with Guilford County Schools, they are focusing on the Enrichment Schools in Guilford County to further assist the needs of the students. Enrichment Schools are in areas where the parent population is not financially able to support the classrooms to the extent that other schools in the system are able to.
The Staff Senate Beyond Tools 4 Schools campaign will collect needed items through Nov. 16. On Nov. 19 they will deliver all donations to Guilford County Schools for distribution to the nine Enrichment Schools which are Bessemer Elementary, Hairston Middle, Dudley High School, Wiley Elementary, Jackson Middle, Smith High School, Montlieu Elementary, Welborn Middle and Andrews High School.
