To alleviate possible traffic congestion for on-campus Commencement activities on Thursday, May 5, and Friday, May 6, 2022, please be aware of the following:

  • Beginning at 10:00 pm Wednesday, May 4, 2022
West Drive will be reserved from Gray Drive to Walker Avenue through Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 6:30 pm. Traffic flow on West Dr. will be reversed during this time to allow for Commencement event attendee pick-up & drop-off at the Coleman Building.
  • Beginning at 1:30 pm until 6:30 pm Thursday, May 5, 2022
Streets in the vicinity of Walker Avenue Parking Deck are subject to traffic management by Campus Police and Parking Operations & Campus Access Management personnel to ensure graduates and their families can safely enter and exit campus.
  • Event Parking
McIver, Oakland, & Walker Decks, along with any surface lot designated for ‘B’, ‘C’, or ‘VB’ permits will be complimentary throughout Commencement weekend beginning at 8:00 am Thursday, May 5, 2022, until 8:00 am Monday, May 9, 2022. Please note, the Walker Deck elevator will remain offline for maintenance through Commencement weekend. Additional mobility-impaired priority spaces will be in place on Levels 1, 2, & 3 of the deck.

Please reference the UNCG campus map to identify parking and building locations.

Members of UNC Greensboro Police and Parking Operations & Campus Access Management will be onsite to help manage traffic and to support public safety and crowd control measures.
