Cayuse Research Suite launches July 1

Posted on June 25, 2021

The UNC Greensboro Office of Research and Engagement has announced a major upgrade to their electronic research administration infrastructure with the launch of Cayuse Research Suite. This new cloud-based platform of research administration software tools, which will replace the SeRA system, will reduce the administrative burden associated with proposal submission and award management and provide enhanced reporting functionality.

On July 1, 2021, the Cayuse Sponsored Projects (SP) module will replace the RAMSeS proposal submission platform, and the Cayuse Outside Interests module will replace the AIR conflict of interest disclosure platform. Importantly, the Cayuse Outside Interests module will support a new conflict of interest disclosure process for externally sponsored research projects.

To bring the University into compliance with federal requirements to promote objectivity in research, effective July 1, any personnel involved in the design, conduct, or reporting of a research project must submit a financial conflict of interest disclosure. The Office of Sponsored Programs will not submit proposals to sponsors until COI disclosures are completed and certified. OSP is hosting weekly town hall discussion sessions to guide the campus through these transitions, as well as live Cayuse SP training workshops. You can find more information about the Cayuse Research Suite, transition activities, and training at cayuse.uncg.edu.
