UNC Greensboro faculty and staff came together to hear from Chancellor Gilliam and ask questions during a Town Hall Friday, Feb. 1.
The Town Hall began with remarks from Chancellor Gilliam regarding UNCG’s “inflection point.” He discussed the necessary steps for transforming the University: articulating opportunities, aligning resources, activating priorities, amplifying and engaging, and assessing.
After Chancellor Gilliam made his remarks, he joined
Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Dana Dunn and Vice Chancellor of Business Affairs Charlie Maimone in answering questions and exchanging ideas with faculty and staff. Staff Senate co-chair Stephen Hale facilitated the question and answer session, asking questions on behalf of the Staff Senate while Faculty Senate chair-elect Dr. Anthony Chow asked questions on behalf of the Faculty Senate.
Topics and questions raised addressed road conditions resulting from construction, the positive impact of the new Nursing and Instructional Building on student and faculty recruitment, teaching information literacy, and pursuing further opportunities to tout the University’s many successes. Other topics included efforts to ensure fair and equitable compensation to faculty of all levels, North Carolina clean energy standards, and many more.
