COVID-19 boosters available for University community

Posted on October 27, 2021

Following federal and state health guidelines, UNCG’s Student Health Services (SHS) is now providing COVID-19 booster shots for eligible students, faculty, and staff.

On Oct. 21, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) authorized and recommended booster shots of COVID-19 vaccines to provide continued protection. As a result of this decision, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has authorized the administration of Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson booster shots for eligible North Carolinians.

Those eligible for a booster shot must have completed a COVID vaccine series as approved and authorized by the FDA in the United States. Those eligible are now able to receive any brand of COVID-19 vaccine for their booster shot – no matter what brand the individual previously received.
