News Items from UNC Greensboro

The spring semester is history. Large numbers of students are away. Lots of stuff was left behind, in the residence halls.

Once again, UNCG’s Cram and Scram sale will sell it. Everything is 50 cents an item.

This year, it will be held on a weekend – and will last one day. Everyone is invited.

The sale is set for Saturday, June 5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in EUC’s Cone Ballroom.

The Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling’s special Cram and Scram donation bins captured clothing, decorations, shoes, nonperishable food and many other odds and ends,” Ben Kunka (OWRR) said. “The variety of items collected is overwhelming, some of the items are brand new or gently used. The massive sorting process will make sure quality items make it to this year’s annual Cram and Scram sale.”

All the revenue will be put towards environmental learning opportunities for students on campus. The items that do not sell are donated to the Salvation Army, and the nonperishable food collected is donated to Greensboro Urban Ministries.

This reuse program diverted over eight tons of material from the landfill last year, Kunka noted.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to transport any material bought to their vehicle immeadiately after purchase. The OWRR can not store material or leave to take material to your car so please plan accordingly. Only cash will be accepted for payment. There are SECU, Wachovia and BB&T ATM’s close by in EUC but correct change is appreciated.
