Photo of Dr. Allan Goldfarb.Dr. Allan Goldfarb (Kinesiology) received new funding from mediUSA for the project “Influence of cycling insert on power, efficiency, oxygen consumption, and performance.” Cycling efficiency is important aspect for performance. A key factor that can improve biomechanical efficiency and possibly prevent injury is the position of the foot within the cycling shoe and the transfer of forces to the pedals, the abstract states.  This study will evaluate energetic and biomechanical measures as they relate to cycling performance and the effect of custom cycling orthotics (CCO’s) on the outcome variables.
