Dr. Terri Shelton (Office of Research and Engagement) received new funding from the NCDHHS Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services for the project “Evaluation of North Carolina Problem Gambling Program.” Dr. Aileen Reid is co-principal investigator on the project.

The purpose of this grant is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Stacked Deck curriculum designed to: 1) teach young people the facts about gambling and related risks; 2) encourage responsible decision making; and 3) prevent young people from becoming problem gamblers and prevent problematic gambling behavior.
