National Hispanic Heritage Month is observed from September 15 to October 15. The Office of Intercultural Engagement will host events all through the month. Take part in dialogues — virtual and in-person — about culture and community and immerse yourself in Latin American culture through interactive activities and festivities.

Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the anniversary of independence of Latin American Countries. September 15 is the independence anniversary of five Latin American countries — Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico declared its independence on September 16, and Chile on September 18.
