The Facilities Management Division of Business Affairs held its first semi-annual Employee Recognition Awards Day in conjunction with the Safety Day program on May 26. The event was held in Cone Ballroom.
During this celebration, three employees were recognized for outstanding service in the areas of Remarkable Customer Service, Safety and Teamwork/Collaboration.
- Reatha Simerly – Facilities Services – for the Spring 2011 Customer Service Award
- Doug Cato – Facilities Design and Construction- Collaboration and Teamwork Award
- Johnny Watterson – Facilities Design and Construction – Safety Award.
The Selection Committee of the Employee Recognition Program had received twenty-five nominations, exemplifying the outstanding work of UNCG’s Facilities staff.
The Selection Committee consisted of seven employees selected by supervision and peers to serve a two year term. The members and respective areas are: Shelly Booth – Facilities Operations Administration, Chris Chilton – Chairman- Utilities Dept., Thomas Everett – Facilities Services Dept., Lorie Krise – Facilities Design and Construction, Joyce Ray- Facilities Management, HUB office, and Office of Sustainability., Kevin Siler – Ground Dept., and Don Williamson – Buildings and Trades Dept.
Awards were presented by Business Affairs Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Jorge Quintal.
All nominees will receive a certificate of recognition at the 2012 winter award presentation in January.
