Award-winning journalist and CEO of Wonder Media Network (WMN) Jenny Kaplan will visit campus for the “She Can, We Can: Be An Entrepreneur Everywhere” on campus on Sept. 14.

The free symposium is open to the campus and public and will take place in Elliott University Center (EUC) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will feature successful entrepreneurs like Kaplan, who will give tips, share learning and development opportunities, and more.

Kaplan will be speaking to attendees and UNC Greensboro students about her career journey and answering questions. Formerly an award-winning journalist at Bloomberg, she changed career paths to launch Wonder Media Network, an audio-first media company, telling stories to promote equality and justice, and to introduce empathy into politics, business, and culture.

In addition to her duties as co-founder and CEO, she hosts WMN’s “Encyclopedia Womannica” and “Women belong in the House” podcasts.

On the “Encyclopedia Womannica” podcast, Kaplan dives into the trials, tragedies, and triumphs of groundbreaking women throughout history who have dramatically shaped the world around us. Listen here on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, or Amazon Music.

On WMN’s flagship show, “Women belong in the House,” Kaplan seeks to understand the state of gender representation in office and asks how Congress would change if it looked more like the people it represents. In the first season, she spoke with women on the campaign trail. In Season 2, she’s talking to women serving in the House of Representatives. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, or Amazon Music.

In addition to Kaplan’s podcasts, one of WMN’s most successful podcasts is “She Votes!,” which digs into the complex history of the women’s suffrage movement and its enduring significance. Hosts Lynn Sherr and Ellen Goodman, who waged their own feminist battle as journalists in the 1970s, speak with some of the leading historians and writers of the women’s suffrage movement. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, or Amazon Music.
