Is UNCG inclusive for everyone? What can it do to be more inclusive?
These are among the many questions the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Equity, Diversity & Inclusion have dealt with over the last two years. They held several discussion panels in 2009-10. They invited a large group of staff and faculty to each one for an open dialogue to hear their views and comments.
This academic year, they’ve held three more specifically on these potential initiatives:
- Expanding diversity support services
- Expanding support and recognition of UNCG staff
- Changing hiring practices to increase diversity in upper administration positions at UNCG
Open Forum March 17 An open forum will provide the opportunity for everyone in the campus community to hear about their results so far, share their views and provide feedback on the future, potential implementation of these three initiatives. The forum will be Thursday, March 17, 3-4:30 p.m. in EUC’s Maple Room. Refreshments will be available.
By the end of the semester, the committee will provide recommendations in a report to the chancellor and provost.
The committee is chaired by Dr. Susan Dennison and Rod Wyatt.
