The Staff Senate sponsored brown bag lunch series continues in February with a discussion on “Communication and Relationships.”
Parking Operations and Campus Access Management staff member Steve Sparks, who holds a master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, will discuss the cycle that relationships go through (based on Steve White’s “The Art of Human Relations”). The one factor common to all successful relationships (personal and professional), the four types of intimacy in relations, and the four strategies for handling difficulties in relationships will be addressed. By adopting the model discussed, individuals can focus on communications that identify and address issues that lead to greater satisfaction in their relationships. The goal is to help participants achieve a new understanding of the principals and dynamics of relationships in order to apply these to create more success in their own relationships.
The discussion will be Wednesday, Feb. 17, at noon, Bryan School, Room 416. Bring your own brown bag lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided.
Seating is limited and reservations are required. Visit https://freyr.uncg.edu/workshops (look for Staff Senate Brown Bag Seminars).
