Student gets eye exam

UNC Greensboro’s Moss Street Partnership School (MSPS) recently partnered with In Her Vision to host free vision clinics for students March 18-20 and March 24-26.

In Her Vision, led by Dr. Mojgan Besharat, provides comprehensive eye examinations assessing ocular and physical health as well as glasses at no cost.

MSPS students, as well as their siblings, who had not seen an eye care provider in the last year were eligible to receive the free eye exam. Students who require eyeglasses were fitted for new glasses and will receive them, free of charge, in the coming weeks. Nearly 120 students received a free eye exam.

“Recognizing the important role vision health has in education, I am overjoyed by this amazing opportunity for our school,” said MSPS Principal Tina Chestnut. “Dr. Besharat and the In Her Vision team have provided an invaluable service to MSPS students and their siblings. There are no words to express my gratitude.”

MSPS, a collaboration between UNCG and Rockingham County Schools, is a K-5 school emphasizing experiential learning that is authentic, active, learner-centered, challenging, and literacy-rich. To learn more about MSPS, visit mossstreet.uncg.edu.
