New CASConnects virtual info session

Posted on January 15, 2021

The College of Arts & Sciences’ (CAS) Diversity Committee is launching a new initiative to support a sense of belonging and mentorship of graduate students from diverse backgrounds, broadly defined.

CASConnects will be comprised of CAS faculty and staff who volunteer to devote 1-3 hours across the semester to this connection and mentorship program. These meetings will be a place where we can support students around identities of race/ethnicity, gender identity, LGBTQ+, international, first-generation, and ability status or any other aspects of identity.

Meetings may be a place simply for solidarity or support, or to talk through issues that students face.

An online info session will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Join the Zoom meeting with ID: 986 0047 5127, password: 040402.

If you are interested or are already providing similar support, organizes ask that you complete this short survey to provide them with your information.

For more information, contact Dr. Gabriela Livas Stein, head of the CAS Diversity Committee, at glstein@uncg.edu.
