  • The Spartans ADVANCE Summer Writing Camp for mid-career or association professors June 22-24. The retreat will focus on writing plans, strategies, research and technology, and online presences. The program is currently prioritizing registration to mid-career women in NSF-Approved STEM fields. Other applicants that do not fall within that pool will be considered after June 4th, pending availability. Moderators are Dr. Cerise L. Glenn and Dr. Annette D. Madlock.   • Rachel Kelly is UNCG’s new Director of Advancement Communications beginning July 6. Kelly is a double alumna who holds a BA in Political Science and an MPA. Currently, Rachel is the Assistant City Manager for Burlington, and has volunteered at UNCG as a member of the Alumni Leadership Board, a UNCG Guarantee Mentor.
  • The Office of New Student Transitions & First Year Experience has named two recipients of the 2020-2021 Keker Common Experience Scholarship. Hannah Ward from Morganton, N.C. and Hailey “Jordan” Moss from Mint Hill, N.C. They are honored for engaging and excelling in all areas of the Keker Common Experience throughout the academic year and will serve as ambassadors for the program moving forward. The Keker Common Experience program is a holistic student success program designed to help new students transition to academic life at UNC Greensboro. This high impact practice instills a multi-faceted approach to student success and development to empower students with the tools and skills needed to find their way here.
  • University Advancement has published a training video concerning the Gift Acceptance Policy and Associated Procedures. Business officers, managers, and administrative support staff around campus who handle gift issues or handle aspects of events in their area that have a fundraising or a sponsorship component should plan to watch the videos, accessible here. Viewers will be required to enter your UNCG single sign on (SSO) credentials.
  • The School of Health and Human Sciences will celebrate the retirement of Dr. Dave Demo and Dr. Kathy Williams on June 10 at Oden Brewing Company, 802 W Gate City Blvd, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
