The MFA Writing Program, the Center for Creative Writing in the Arts and The Greensboro Review will host a poetry reading by Rebecca Black on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Faculty Center.
The event will be followed by a book signing.
Rebecca Black’s first collection of poems, “Cottonlandia” (University of Massachusetts, 2005), won the 2004 Juniper Prize. Individual poems have been published in Poetry, The Virginia Quarterly Review, Colorado Review, Bellingham Review, The Missouri Review, and other journals, as well as the Poetry Daily web site.
She is at work on a second collection of poems, as well as a collection of essays concerning the civil rights movement in her hometown of Albany, Ga. A former Wallace Stegner fellow, she teaches in the MFA in Creative Writing Program.
