After a one-year hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic, the “Storm The Streets” spirit march returns on Tuesday, Nov. 9, as UNCG opens the men’s basketball season against crosstown rival N.C. A&T.

Motorists should expect delays along the route of the “Storm The Streets” walk.

The students’ mile-long march from the UNCG Baseball Stadium to the Greensboro Coliseum before the game should last between 30 and 40 minutes, and it will prompt a series of rolling street closures by University Police and the Greensboro Police Department.

The march begins at 5:30 p.m., and the intersection of Walker Avenue and Josephine Boyd Street will be closed while the students pass through.

The march route goes west on Walker Avenue and then turns left (south) on Chapman Street. Those roads will be closed while the march is in progress, and Greensboro Police will close the intersection of Chapman and Gate City Boulevard while the students cross to the Coliseum.

The stretch of Walker Avenue on campus between Josephine Boyd Street and Kenilworth Street will be closed before the march, with an estimated closure time of 4:45 p.m. until roughly 5:40 p.m.
