The Art Department’s most recent MFA graduates are exhibiting their work in one group show in New York City this month.
This exhibition, titled “Tension,” will open Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Christina Ray Gallery in the Soho district. A number of faculty and all the artists will attend the opening.
This is an unprecedented event for the department, said Lawrence Jenkens, who is the new department head. “It is a truly excellent way to elevate the profile of our MFA program, its students and their work.”
Lee Walton, assistant professor of art and longtime collaborator with Christina Ray, added, “There is an amazing group of artists coming through our program. They have a fresh perspective on why they are making art. They are the real deal.”
