UNCG’s campus is especially welcoming during the autumn season, and the hundreds of high school juniors and seniors attending Spartan Showcase this Saturday are sure to enjoy their time on campus.

Hosted by UNCG Undergraduate Admissions, the university’s fall open house – dubbed Spartan Showcase – introduces students to the college experience at UNCG.

“I love introducing prospective students to UNCG because I know this school is a place that cultivates unique, active and excited students,” said Laura Melrose, a Spartan Guide and senior majoring in studio art. “UNCG helps people come out of their comfort zone and find what they are passionate about, and then shows them how to achieve their goals.”

High school juniors and seniors and their families will have the opportunity to learn about different majors, go on campus tours and visit UNCG’s three residential colleges. There will also be informative sessions on academics, financial aid, campus activities and programs, intercultural engagement and study abroad. A special interest session – Sesión Informativa en Español – will be open to Spanish-speaking students and their families as well.

“Visiting campus for open house is essential during the college search process,” said Kelly Caudle, event coordinator for UNCG Undergraduate Admissions. “It’s an opportunity to see for yourself what it’s like to be a part of the UNCG community. You’ll get to visit the academic buildings, residence halls, student union and athletic facilities, as well as chat with faculty about life inside and outside the classroom.”

Spartan Showcase is this Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. Click here for more information or to register. Prospective students can also register the morning of the event.
