Many UNC Greensboro students have returned home for the holidays, but there’s still plenty for local Spartans and the Greensboro community to enjoy this holiday season, both on and off campus.
Here’s our list of the top five things to do with family and friends this holiday season:
Cheer on men’s and women’s basketball
UNCG men’s basketball has three home games before the end of the year, and women’s basketball has two home games. Visit uncgspartans.com to view the complete schedule and to purchase tickets.
View new art exhibitions at Weatherspoon Art Museum and Greensboro Project Space
Check out the new Andy Warhol exhibition at the Weatherspoon, and visit the Greensboro Project Space in downtown to view a special superhero-themed exhibition created by students and families from the Center for New North Carolinians. Admission is free. For more information, visit weatherspoon.uncg.edu and greensboroprojectspace.com.
See Spartans on stage in “A Christmas Carol”
Nine UNCG Spartans – including students, alumni, faculty, and staff – will be on stage and behind the scenes in Triad Stage’s “A Christmas Carol” in Winston-Salem. Purchase tickets to see this holiday classic at triadstage.org.
Go holiday shopping at the UNCG Pop Up Shop on Elm Street
The UNCG Pop Up Shop will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays through Dec. 22 and will sell Spartan gear and other items – ideal for shoppers purchasing gifts for the holidays.
Grab a bite to eat at The Shops at Spartan Village
Take a break from all the holiday cooking and visit The Shops at Spartan Village – from Mexican-Asian fusion at Taco Bao to the newly-opened Bestway Grocery, there’s something for everyone.
