Adults and kids running race

In honor of its 125th anniversary, UNCG will sponsor a special 1.25-mile costume walk/run at the annual Run 4 the Greenway event in Greensboro on Saturday, Oct. 28.

The event, which also includes a 4-mile race and community party, serves as a fundraiser for the Downtown Greenway, a 4-mile walking and biking trail in downtown Greensboro. The event kicks off at 3 p.m., with the 1.25-mile walk/run beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The special 1.25-mile course runs through UNCG’s campus, and participants are encouraged to sport their Spartan Blue and Gold during the event.

UNCG’s mascot, “Spiro,” will be in attendance, and UNCG Chancellor Franklin D. Gilliam, Jr. will present awards to participants. Students, faculty and staff will serve as volunteers at the event.
