Spartan staff are known to always go the extra mile. But the last few years have been exceptional! Despite incredible challenges, we have witnessed our staff go above and beyond. They led the way, not only keeping our University running and our Spartan community safe, but also doing everything they can to see our students through to graduation.
To celebrate the achievements and dedication of staff, Chancellor Gilliam and Staff Senate will host a reception on Monday, May 16 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. It will be in the Alumni House and surrounding Taylor Garden if the weather permits.
Staff are invited to enjoy good food, fellowship, and a festive atmosphere. Winners of the University-wide Staff Excellence Awards, the Gladys Strawn Bullard Staff Award, and other unit awards around campus will be recognized.
Employees do not have to take leave to attend this staff appreciation event if it occurs during their workday. However, they do need to have their supervisors’ approval to ensure University operations are covered during this time period. Supervisors are encouraged to provide flexibility enabling all employees to attend.
