Supplies needed for local teachers

UNCG Staff Senate is conducting the annual supply drive to benefit the Guilford Education Alliance Teacher Supply Warehouse.

The Warehouse offers new and gently-used school supplies to teachers in Guilford County Schools free of charge. Donations from our campus community will help restock the shelves so teachers can visit the facility up to four times a year for items needed in their classrooms.

Most needed supplies:
copy paper, #2 pencils, pencil boxes, crayons, notebooks, colored markers, colored pencils, permanent markers, construction paper, dry eraser markers, highlighters, index cards, post-it notes, 2 pocket folders, clipboards, facial tissues, scissors, Clorox wipes

Gently-used items that can be donated include:
Art & craft supplies – stickers, cookie cutters; Ribbon, yarn, knitting needles, fabric, thread & spools;
Holiday decorations; Organizing bins, plastic containers (with & without lids!); Baskets, metal tins, vases, mason jars & coffee mugs; Games & puzzles (with all the pieces please!); Children’s books, youth novels, classic literature; Hula-hoops, balls, Frisbees (used tennis balls too!); Small toys for prize boxes
Dictionaries & thesauruses; CD cases, awards & trophies, picture frames; 3 ring binders; Bags – paper, canvas & plastic

Donations can be dropped off in collection bins at the following locations through Friday, February 28:
• Curry Building, main lobby, 2nd floor
• School of Education Building, main lobby
• Jackson Library, main lobby
• Bryan School of Business & Economics, room 401-D
• Moore Nursing Building, main lobby
• MHRA Building, main lobby
• 821 S. Josephine Boyd Building, receptionist area
• Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, room 208M
• Mossman (bin location TBD)
• Moran Commons (main lobby near Taco Bell)
