The exhibition “Ties that Bind: Selections from the Collection,” at the Weatherspoon Art Museum, will be open through next Friday, Feb. 12.

Organized by Curator of Collections Elaine D. Gustafson and drawn from the museum’s collection, artworks in the exhibition explore familial relationships such as between mother and child or less-fixed, yet equally important ties to self-identified families – lovers, friends, and even objects. Works also explore the tension, separateness, and alienation that result from unhealthy ties or from a lack of connection.

The exhibition is on view on the second floor, Gregory D. Ivy and the Weatherspoon Guild Galleries. For more information on the exhibition visit here.

Several other exhibitions are open at the Weatherspoon this spring.
