On Oct. 5, UNCG will mark a pivotal moment.
For the first time since 2004, our University will announce a comprehensive fundraising campaign.
This campaign will be the University’s most ambitious ever.
The launch of the public phase of this extraordinary campaign has been planned for two years. The COVID-19 pandemic delayed its public launch a year ago. It was reset for this fall, as many of you know. But, with the continuing pandemic, the way we launch it must be reflective of our current public health needs and concern for each member of our community.
At the same time, a campaign this outstanding for our University, its students, and Spartans for generations to come, can be held back no longer.
Recognizing the reality of COVID-19 trends in our state, campaign leadership has made the difficult decision to forego in-person gatherings surrounding the campaign launch. Although the larger University community, including its many alumni and supporters, will not come together in person to celebrate the launch, they will join together in spirit to celebrate this exciting moment.
Each faculty and staff member will have a role to play in this campaign. The extraordinary work that faculty and staff do each day, as we transform students’ lives, transform research, and transform our region and state is the key. And this campaign will take that access, that excellence, and that impact to a level never envisioned before.
The announcement of the Campaign on Oct. 5 – our Founders Day – will be a time for jubilance.
Save the date for Oct. 5 as the University officially announces the campaign theme, ambitions, fundraising goals, and progress.
Staff and volunteers will be on campus giving out T-shirts, branded swag, campaign information, and snacks.
Please join in, as we come together to celebrate this exciting and historic moment for our University.
