The 2020 primary elections will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

Early voting in Guilford County will be available at 15 sites, including one on-campus option at the UNCG Kaplan Center for Wellness. During the early voting period (February 13-February 29, hours vary), any of the designated sites can provide the following services: voting for individuals currently registered in Guilford County, same-day registration, or making changes to existing registration (e.g., address or name updates).

On Primary Election Day (March 3), all registered voters must vote in their designated precinct according to their address of record. An Election Day site will be available for those registered in precinct G45 in the EUC Dail Room. No early voting is available on March 3 and voters cannot make changes to their registration or vote outside of their precinct.

You do not need to show your ID for this primary election. The State Board of Elections has asked universities – including UNCG – whose IDs have been approved as voter IDs to disseminate the following message to students: Voters will not be required to show photo ID for the 2020 primary election. In a December 31 order, a federal district court blocked North Carolina’s voter photo ID requirement from taking effect. The injunction will remain in place until further order of the court. For more information visit the State Board of Elections website: www.ncsbe.gov.

Please note that there are some circumstances under which newly registered voters may need to verify their residence by providing additional documentation. For more details, please contact the Guilford County Board of Elections.

UNCG Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement will work to disseminate this news to the student body and provide student voting resources through their website. Please contact Kristina Gage (Kristina.gage@uncg.edu) or Nikki Baker (Nikki.baker@uncg.edu) if you have questions.
