UNCG’s cherry trees signal spring

UNC Greensboro in spring is a sight to behold, a realm alive with flowers.

And walking down College Avenue through the two rows of blooming Japanese cherry trees is an essential part of the UNCG experience.

The cherry blossoms have been admired and enjoyed by the campus community and visitors for more than 80 years, after the Class of 1939 made a gift of them following their graduation. Read more about the class and their gift here.
