A shared curiosity and desire to create meaningful learning experiences is an essential part of engaging visitors with contemporary art. At the Weatherspoon Art Museum, a corp of fifteen volunteer docents assist visitors as tour guides and “Ask Me” greeters. Docents come from a variety of disciplines and life experiences. They share a love of learning, art and interacting with the public.
Docent training classes begin Aug. 29 and are held two Monday mornings a month during the fall semester. Docents begin leading tours in the spring.
