UNC Greensboro is always enhancing the campus experience for its new and returning students. This 2022-23 academic year, students will meet fresh faces and participate in new experiences to guide them through towards success.

Here is a look at some of the new services and opportunities that students can take advantage of:

New dining options

BLUE & GOLD Meals has replaced Premium Swipes. They are available seven days a week during restaurant hours. Check your meal plan to know if you can use BLUE, GOLD, or both.

New spaces

• The Department of Public Health Education has opened the Public Health Co-Lab: Collaborate Work Space for PHE GA, students, and faculty. It is in Room 339 of the Coleman Building.
• The Women’s Gender, and Sexuality Studies program has a new student lounge in Room 336 of the Curry Building, where students can relax or study in a new furnished and decorated space.

New services and resources

Minnie the chat bot will assist visitors around the Housing and Residence Life website. She speaks English and Spanish.

New entertainment and interactive opportunities

• Students can now take advantage of UNCG HRL Streaming Service to watch more than 400 movies and TV shows on campus via Swank. Find all your entertainment at go.uncg.edu/streaming.
• All regular season games for all sports are free for students to attend this year.
• The Weatherspoon Art Museum introduces new interactive projects called Inquiry Hubs. The Space for Creativity and Space for Engagement aim at reinterpreting and representing its art collection in a way that tells a more inclusive and more diverse history of art. They can be found on the first floor of the museum through December.

New degrees and programs

• An Esports concentration at the Bryan School of Business.
• A Computer Science PhD program with the Department of Computer Science, beginning in the fall.
• A minor in Jewish Studies with the Religious Studies Department, beginning in the fall.
• A new online MA in Speech Language Pathology. The first online delivery will begin Fall 2023.
• A new BFA concentration in Animation with the School of Art. The School of Music has a new concentration in Popular Music and Technology and Jazz Education. The School of Theatre will offer an MFA in Drama, Music Direction for Musical Theatre Concentration.
